A document signed electronically, when opened with Adobe Reader, bears a visible signature banner affixed at the top of the document.
The list of certificates in your Adobe may not be up to date.
This is why it is necessary, in case of non-recognition of the signature, to perform this procedure to download the latest update of these certificates.
A signature block affixed to the document :
This document includes less visibly:
- A signature validation status
- Signature properties
- A certificate used for the signature
Signature validation status
When you click on the signature block, a “Signature validation status” message appears :
Click on the button "Signature properties..." and the next window appears :
If the signature cannot be validated as in the case above, just approve the Universign certificates.
If you wish to approve the Universign certificates
1) click on the button with the following icon
2) Then click on "Signature details" and then "Certificate details..."
3) Go to the "Approval" tab and click on to the "Add to the approved certificates” button
4) An “Acrobat Security” pop-up opens. Click on the “OK” button
5) Check all the approval boxes and click on the "OK" button
6) Click on the "OK" button on the "Detailed information about certificates" window
7) Then click on "Signature details" and then "Certificate details..."
8) Go to the "Approval" tab and click on to the "Add to the approved certificates” button
9) An “Acrobat Protection” pop-up opens. Click on “OK”
10) Check all the approval boxes and click on the "OK" button
11) Click on the "OK" button on the "Detailed information about certificates" window
After performing these operations, close the document and reopen it, Adobe will display a green tick on your signed document.
